In Part 1 we looked at some of the pioneers of card counting and how the activity came to the forefront with the publication of Beat the Dealer by Edward Thorp. This book alerted the casino owners to such an extent that they were forced to take counter measures.

The first counter strategy was to change the rules of Blackjack to allow for more decks to be used and shuffling the deck well before the last cards were reached. Of course modern day card counters have developed progressively more sophisticated methods to counter these counter measures, so it is essentially a perpetual war between card counter and casino.

One strategy used by casinos is detailed analysis of the habits of the suspected card counters and of the fall of the cards themselves. Detailed real-time or retrospective statistical analysis can indicate if a players strategy varies as a function of how hot the deck is, this is whether the cards remaining in the deck are better for the casino or the player. New strategies were developed by card counters in an attempt to avoid their playing behavior appearing suspicious. However, the casinos were on the ascendancy and card counting stopped paying.

The counters hit back using team counting. In team counting each player is assigned a role. There will be observers who watch for trends on the tables; when favourable conditions are noted specialised tacticians will carry out detailed calculations on the best bet to make; this is communicated to players who join the table and place a bet at the precise optimal moment. Thus the playing behaviour of the gambler who moves from table to table appears to be random although he is only placing bets when the odds are optimum. It is very difficult to pull this off and many attempts have resulted in failure.

One success story is a team of up to 30 students trained and run by Bill Kaplan, a business graduate from Harvard. Huge amounts of money were won, but eventually they were beaten by the casinos as individually were identified and banned. самые красивые сексуальные еврейки большие члены бесплатно
